Madison City Chess League will hold its 10th Annual Grade-Level City Chess Championship in 2025! That means we will crown a chess champion for each grade level K-12. The City Chess Championship is an open championship where any scholastic player can register to compete by grade level. The tournament is open to any competitor in grades K-12, but one must reside within Madison City limits or attend Madison City Schools to be eligible to win and be declared City Chess Champion for their grade level. Grades 7 - 12 play round 1 Friday evening and rounds 2 - 4 on Saturday. Grades K-6 will play all rounds on Saturday. Player meeting will be in the playing area before the start of round 1.

Registration Fee: $20 for MCCL
members; $30 for non-members.
Deadline to Register: Wednesday,
February 26th, 8:00 pm.

Awards Ceremony at 7 pm Saturday. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. to the top 3
finishers in each grade level. Each City Champion in grades K-2 will
receive a $50 prize. Each City Champion in grades 3-12 will receive a
$100 prize.
