QUEEN'S QUEST Tournament Results

SPONSORED BY LOCKHEED MARTIN

Big picture
Thank you to Mill Creek Elementary and volunteers for hosting another wonderful Queen's Quest Chess Tournament! This year's tournament saw kids from across Madison County and as far as Mobile compete for trophies and medals. Sponsor Lockheed Martin raised excitement by handing out some great prizes after each round such as sunglasses, spinners, poppers, and color changing pencils. They even used a 3D printer to create additional prizes for our 1st place individual winners (a model F-35 jet) and gold queen chess pieces for the top 4 scores on each team. Lockheed Martin also created a 3D printed chess set and board that was given away after a silent auction raising money for the Madison City Chess League. Congratulations to Amy Fruchtnicht for winning the chess set.

Tournament results in tie-break order can always be found on the MCCL webpage under the event. Queen's Quest results can be found here. The USCF tournament report (which is not in tie-break order) providing players updated ratings can be found here.

We appreciate our student volunteers who worked with elementary chess team members throughout the day.
The gym served as the playing area for all sections.
