Our annual MCCL Challenge fundraiser will occur at Madison City Schools Central Office from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
MCCL CHALLENGE
What: Madison chess kids 10 years and younger challenge you to a chess match!
When: Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Where: Madison City Schools Central Office, 211 Celtic Drive, Madison, AL
Schedule:
5:30-6:00 p.m. - Blindfold challenge by MCCL student against David Kumbroch of WHNT-News 19
6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Friendly pick up game of chess between MCCL kids under 10 years old and community and business leaders. [Please register as an adult if you are interested in playing a friendly game with an MCCL kid.]
- Chess demonstrations by some of our more experienced students
Donate: The public is invited to come watch and participate in the chess match. We hope you will consider donating to MCCL, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes chess education in North Alabama, if our blindfolded student can win his game against an adult.
MCCL Goal for 2017: Raise funds to bring a chess master to North Alabama to train our kids during summer camp.
Donation Recognition Levels
Grandmaster: $3000 and above
International Master: $1000-2,999
FIDE Master: $500-$999
Master: $100-$499
Register now to participate. - priority will be given to kids whose families are lifetime members or who have renewed their annual membership for 2017. You will be notified by email in January if your child has been selected to participate.
Even if you cannot participate, consider making a donation to the Madison City Chess League before the end of the year.
