MCCL 2nd Saturday Online Blitz Tournaments on ChessKid - June 10 * July 8 * August 12

Join MCCL members on the 2nd Saturday of each month for a K-12 ChessKid online tournament at 2 p.m. For the summer, we are hosting Blitz tournaments with Game 5 minutes for 5 rounds. Upcoming dates: June 10, July 8, August 12. Read more here.

Must be a current MCCL member in order to be added to the Madison City Chess League Club on ChessKid. Join here.

Girls Chess Club  - June 14 and July 12 at 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Girls Chess Club members are invited to bring their chess sets and enjoy some cool treats at the following locations this summer:

• June 14th - Jeremiah's Italian Ice  located at 181 Hughes Rd. Ste 9 in Madison
• July 12th - Chillabay located at 92 Shorter Street, Suite B, Madison, AL

MCCL Movie Night at Madison Library - 6/15 and 7/20 at 6 p.m.

Madison Library is hosting a Summer Movie Spectacular on Thursday nights in June and July at 6 p.m. MCCL would like to tag along and invite its members (boys and girls) to join us for the following movies on the following dates:

• June 15 - Return of the Jedi
• July 20 - The Princess Bride

Summer Chess Camp - June 26-30

Summer Chess Camp for kids in grades K-12. Morning (8:30-11:30) and afternoon (1:30-4:30 p.m.) camps available for all levels of players June 26-30. This year's camp will be held at Discovery Middle School in Madison (same location as last summer). The morning sessions are for those who want to Learn to Play chess or those who have never played in a USCF rated tournament. The afternoon classes are for those who have a USCF rating and classes are organized by rating level. Read more and register here. Campers can bring a water bottle and snack. MCCL shirts will be available for purchase on the first day of camp for $20.
