MCCL Welcomes Your Donations

The Madison City Chess League (MCCL) announces a new program to help further establish Madison as a chess town! Working with the Chamber of Commerce, we will be donating chess sets to Madison businesses like hotels and coffee shops that are Chamber members where patrons may gather to play. If you have a chess set you would like to donate or if you would like to contribute toward the purchase of chess sets, you can do so here. The donated chess sets can be used, but need to be in good condition. You can drop off donated chess sets when MCCL meets for Monday Night Chess at Madison Library from 6-7:30 p.m. or you can contact MCCL to arrange for a staff member to meet you at Madison Library to receive your donation at a more convenient day or time.

MCCL was excited to donate its first chess set to Madison Chamber member Avid Hotel in Madison. General Manager Seyma Goluoglu actually plays chess. Here she is pictured with Avid guest Jonathan Rasberry who was coaching during Summer Chess Camp week in Madison. MCCL hopes all the guests at Avid Hotel enjoy playing chess while they are in town.

If you are a Madison Chamber member and would like to receive a donated chess set, you can contact the Madison City Chess League here. MCCL is excited to facilitate this effort in sustainability. Whether you are cleaning out a closet, moving, or just discover you no longer need that chess set and would like someone who can use it to do so, consider making an in-kind donation to MCCL.
