As the school year winds down, there are numerous opportunities for kids to keep developing their chess skills over the summer.  Here is a list of events that your child will not want to miss!

MAY

Tuesday - May 24th - 5-8 p.m. - MCCL Spirit Night - Summer begins with a fun night of skating at Insanity Skate Park with chess kids from across the city.  This is a fundraiser for MCCL on the night before the last day of school.  Let's celebrate a great year together and support the Madison City Chess League.  Wear your chess shirts so we know you are a chess kid!

Monday - May 30th - Memorial Day - No MCCL meeting

JUNE

Monday - June 6, 13, 20, 27 - After taking off for Memorial Day, MCCL meetings resume at the regular schedule: Monday nights at the YMCA from 6:30-8:00 pm

Tuesday - June 7th - ChessKid Night - First Tuesday of every month, login to chesskid.com at 6:00pm and play fast chess games.  You might see someone you know!

Tuesday - June 7, 14, 21, 28 - Girls Chess Nights Summer Edition: Tuesday nights at Madison Taziki's at 6pm.(bring chess sets or iPads)

Tuesday - June 7, 14, 21 - All Star Chess Club Summer Edition - Heritage Elementary 1-3 p.m. (for rising 2nd & 3rd graders) $20 per session

Monday June 27th - Summer Knights Chess Camp Begins  - many options for kids of all levels - Rainbow Elementary

Monday June 27- Wednesday June 29 – Summer Knights Blitz Clinic (4:15-5:30 p.m. – Rainbow Elementary) $30

Thursday - June 30th - Summer Knights Blitz Tournament - Player meeting at 5:15 p.m. at Rainbow Elementary; 1st round at 5:30 p.m. - A rated tournament for USCF members - $20 entry fee

JULY

Monday - July 4th - Fourth of July - No MCCL meeting

Monday - July 25  – Bughouse Night at Rainbow Elementary– FREE - for MCCL members only (6-8 p.m.) - join now if you are not a member so you can participate!  Arrive at Rainbow by 5:30 p.m. to register your team if you have not already done so and to warm up.
