The Winter Scholastic Chess Tournament was held on Saturday January 9th at Columbia Elementary.  Seventy students registered to compete in both Rated and Non-Rated sections.  Students ranged from kindergarten to high school age and all had a great time while exercising their brains on a Saturday.  We would like to thank Principal Jamie Hill and Columbia Elementary for being such great hosts, and the Bob Jones Baseball Boosters for offering concessions.

The Rated sections awarded trophies to the top three and medals for 4th-6th place.  In addition, top females medals were awarded to the top female who did not otherwise receive an award, or to the top female recipient of an award if all females in a particular section already had received an award.  Here are the results.
