2023 Is a Big Year for the Madison City Chess League!

The Madison City Chess League is getting ready for its biggest year yet as the organization celebrates its 10th anniversary. As we usher in the new year, MCCL wants to encourage all its annual members to renew their family membership. The first benefit most members will realize is reduced registration fees for the Winter Knights (K-12) Tournament at Columbia Elementary on January 14th. All current MCCL members will also be able to vote on the Board slate presented by the MCCL Nominating Committee during the Winter Knights tournament.

Monday Night Chess at Madison Library resumes on January 2nd, and our MCCL Adult Chess Club meetings resume on Sunday January 8th. You can keep up with all chess happenings in our area on the MCCL Upcoming Events page.

We are excited to host the All Girls State Chess Championship, and individual and team event with the top 4 scores from any school comprising the team score. Make plans now to attend. You can read more and register here.


Each year we set a new record for attendance, and this year we hope to continue to increase the number of girls who compete in this state championship event.
